Descriptions:
RS232 Optical Isolator protects RS232 devices from the damage by ground loop surging or shock or static electricity throught optical technology.
Among RS232 communication system, static electricity, shock surge, or hot plug may cause damage to rS232 devices via wiring system. For example, if the device A and device B are wired by RS232 connection, when the electricity voltage difference (any reason caused) between B is beyond, 80V, the communication will function unusually, and the RS232 port would be easily damaged by the voltage difference.
RS232 optical isolator completes the conversion from electronic signal to optical, from optical to electronic signal. It isolates the damage between the RS232 devices, and improves the reliability of RS232 communication.
By RS232 optical isolator, the 7500V electricity surge and 2500V constant electricity difference can be isolated, it would definitely help to protect the RS232 communication system.
